This week, I was sitting with my family and enjoying the Free Ice Cream I got at Dairy Queen (with a donation!), and I was reflecting on how much I have LOVED blogging. I reminisced about why the sites ever got started in the first place and thought I would share a little of my story with you.
In 2011, my family sold all that we had and set out on a mission to change the world! We left in a motorhome and began traveling city to city handing out supplies to the homeless community. We said that when the supplies we had run out, we would go back to a home. Well, that actually never happened. In fact, every time we gave things away, someone would donate twice as much to go back out. We had to sell our car so we could pull a 20-foot trailer behind us and that wasn’t even big enough towards the end.
Part of this journey included starting a blog and showing others how they could help those in need even if they had little money. The sites have evolved over the years, but the purpose remains the same. If you save money, you are more able to help those who need you. It is my passion and my purpose in this life.
Currently, I am working very hard to save every penny I can to build a facility for the homeless like has never before been seen. It is going to be revolutionary and life-changing! I am so grateful to spend my years in the meantime helping you and your families save money.
In the true spirit of reflection, we will go back three years to an old YouTube video I posted about how to help others even when you don’t have the money. (Look at how little Sammy was!!!). I hope you are inspired today to make a difference in your communities, however you are able. Enjoy!
